Stormy, I'm so very sorry to hear you had a fire. That can't be an easy thing to deal with. I'm assuming everyone in your family is fine - and that's what's really important.
Thank you for the kind words. I didn't really "plan" on a single genus bed but I was losing plants and it was driving me nuts. I went to two different nurseries and both raved about this cotton burr compost. So I took everything out of my beds working on one bed at a time and amending the soil with this compost rototilling it in and replanting. I'm putting in more shrubs and then I can pull out some of the heuchera and work them into the plantings. I'm really getting into hosta again and am loving them for their hardiness. They're such a non-fussy plant and I like the color combos of Heuchera and Hosta.
I've always loved the look of Burnished Bronze and Chocolate Lace is so similar. My neighbor across they highway I met on "the other site" swapped me for Chocolate Lace and I just love her and she gave me June Bride. June Bride is nothing spectacular in the way of foliage but her flowers are really pretty I think. Mars I found up in Hayward, WI. Ginger Ale is one I got in the Heuchera Hoedown on "the other site" awhile back and lost it. I'm with you on Caramel. Caramel has been my favorite but if Southern Comfort performs as well, Caramel may have stiff competition. I have 11 Caramels and wouldn't mind adding more! I like to plant in groups of at least 3 normally. Here's my favorite Caramels - I reworked the soil in this area too and they seem very happy!
