I haven't seen my first lubber and I am going to remain in denial until it happens. I hate those things! They eat everything! I've seen one eating my bromeliads! What eats bromeliads? That's got to be like eating shoe leather with the cleats attached!

If you vacuum them up, don't you have to clean out the vacuum? I'm not going to lie - I'll pet caterpillars all day long but lubber grasshoppers scare me. At least they're slow so I can squish them. Also, I don't have to worry about them flying in my face or jumping on me. But still...they scare me.
