Ken, I'm pretty sure this is not recommended, but what about storing garlic in the crisper drawer of a fridge?? or maybe in a root cellar?? (which I don't have, but still...) I keep mine in our unheated (but rarely goes below freezing because it's attached to the house) garage, so basically it's being stored all winter at refrigerator temps. Next year (well, I guess that would be this year) I'm going to do some experimentation with storage methods.
