I feel silly asking this
http://garden.org/i/s/blushing... but I have never before ordered daylilies by mail order and never before planted bare root fans. (I’ve always planted from 1-gallon pots).
When planting for a single clump in an area that is a 3-foot circle, how far apart do I place the fans (assuming I receive a double fan)?
When planting for two clumps (two 3-foot circles) am I better-off planting both fans in one clump area and waiting 2-3 years to split the clump to start the second? Or should I plant one fan in each clump?
