My trees are putting out inflorescences and a few leaves. I stripped all the leaves off all 4 trees this last winter. I decided that I would let them start fresh, even the white that always keeps some leaves and blooms through the winter. I was standing near the screen door to the roof garden the other night when the scent hit me from one of them. It's one that has the smell of cinnamon, not as sweet as the others. What a joy to have that smell wafting through my bedroom at night.

A day without sunshine is like, you know, night.
