Yes, it's two. I like them like that, so if I ever get around to finishing them I may just leave them that way.

I can't answer this yet. Mine did end up in the same condition after winter as before it, but they were still empty ...and they were under a bit of roof. They did have snow and wet and freeze and thaw, but since they weren't finished or planted I just don't know. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say they'd be just fine.
