Spent some time cleaning up inside my hoop house... dug the carrots that I left in the ground there and was a little disappointed; many of them were rotten or had spots of rot, whereas the ones I stored in the crisper drawer of the fridge have kept very well.


Years ago, we would bury carrots in a barrel of sand and keep them in the cool basement over winter. We could just go down and dig out some when we needed them, and they would keep all winter.
Politicians are like diapers, they need to be changed often, and for the same reason.
