Dioscorea bulbifera, "air potato", is a horrible invasive here in FL. Stripped of that offense, however, it's pretty neat. Its grows its caudex in the air, hanging, drops it, and a new plant grows on the ground. It's really cute and attractive when the caudex erupts the plant growth, but then turns into this habitat-gorging vine monster. The one here in FL is toxic, but the one in West Africa is edible. It can grow 8 inches per day!!!
