Once those rhizomes sprout, Kyla, they are good to go. A couple of advantages with them being in pots, is that those pots can be placed to maximize sun exposure and when/if you want to over-winter them indoors, those potted rhizomes are easy to dig up. Just remember when planting them, these rhizomes grow just under the surface of the soil. I put only an inch of soil over the rhizomes when I plant them.
