"Skipping the wait" is my favorite gardening method.
As for tea, I make alfalfa tea which smells fine until it really gets fermented and even then isn't too stinky. I keep a bin of alfalfa pellets and a smaller container with a mesh bag that has maybe a cup of them originally, fill the container with water and steep for however long until I need to give somebody a drink of tea.......
I planted many borage plants this spring, so I hope it seeds itself wildly here.
We bought garden supplies yesterday afternoon and I got a little four-pack of basil because mine ain't growing at all fast enough. I also picked up, for a dollar, a Euphorbium called Diamond Dust or some such -- it's a tender perennial which means annual here, but it is so pretty! with little white flowers sprinkled all over. I should have snagged several but didn't know enough at the time. This one will look purty in some container or other. Here's a picture:
