That is great that you had such a high survival rate this year! Probably everything is getting much more established. You didn't add as many new ones last year, did you? I've noticed that if I can get them through the first summer with enough watering, then they can handle a bad winter. It all depends on the summer weather here.
Remember that children, marriages, and flower gardens reflect the kind of care they get.
