I used the soft net bags that avocados come in. They are just lon enough and give room top pop open. Seeing how Cinco de Mayo has just passed, I had a good supply from an avocado "bar" I brought to a party. Used one on each pod. I just happened to be lucky to catch the first pod as it opened, but before I netted it. One moment it was brown and shriveled. The next, it was wiiiide open. I don't think I lost any seeds though.
