It's really important that you left it dry out before you plant whatever is left, so you'll have lots more time to sort out what to do

Alright so first I cut the dead tissue at the bottom of the cactus
Then I repot it if it doesn't fall out of soil when I take it out
I put it in soil and it'll grow back roots
That's what I need to do right?
