Repotted a Desert Rose; pruned 3/4 of a fairly long hedge of plumbago - and yes, all those little bits from that plant do stick to you. When I was finished I I hosed myself off; went in the pool for a little exercise and then used the outdoor shower to wash the pool water off. I did what I normally never, EVER do. I left the main faucet on. When I was going to bed, I thought I heard water. I was sure the pool pump was off so nothing was circulating in the pool. Went out with a flash light; and the hose had split and there was water gushing everywhere. Why couldn't the water have flowed towards the pool, which will probably need topping up tomorrow !! My fault entirely; I always turn faucets off. Lesson learned and it will probably be an expensive one. I have no idea when the hose split and how long the water was gushing; but the deck and all around the storage shed and other areas is flooded.
