A while back I rescued (with permission) a clump of roots and sticks from a trash pile at the road side. It was an old Hydrangea a young woman was discarding while renovating the foundation plantings at the new house she had recently purchased. Since the woman was interested in gardening, I invited the her to our local plant swap; also told her about All Things Plants.
The plant has recovered. Last year it made a good show of healthy green growth, so this year I can finally see the blooms.
All I ever knew about Hydrangea was 'pink or blue", but this looks rather purple to me. I checked the database but got dizzy looking at all the blooms.
Anyone have a clue which Hydrangea this is?
