Susan are you serious? Put them in the shade. Not deep shade, just not direct sun. Your sun is so intense where you live. Kind of like TX. Can you post some photos so I can see what they look like. All may not be lost. Will watch for the photos and description of where you have them, the potting mix you used and anything else you think might be important.
