Depends, the growth tips are very easy to snap off, not a big deal,
Really these aren't bulbs, but actually corns, and often have more than one active growth point, or eye, eventually these grow out enough to be separated, or will even split themselves as the plant naturally rots from the bottom up, lots of bulbing aroids employee a similar strategy to split pups off the main plant
