Did you buy/bulbs or buy the lily already grown?
If you bought it fully grown then I'd wager the problem is that they were greenhouse grown, as such the stems will be wimpy, no wind in a greenhouse.
I see this a lot.
If that's the case then next year they should be plenty sturdy
