We had our spring plant swap for the Rocky Mountain Garden Forum yesterday in Berthoud CO. The lady who hosted had recently moved in to that house and, lucky her, got a beautiful red peony, too! None of the blooms were completely open yet but it had the most intense floral rose fragrance. By that, I mean not spicy, not lemony, just intensely classic beautiful rose scented. The blooms are definitely going to be a full double when they open, looked like a fairly small bloom. Do any of you have any reds with a really, really strong rose scent?
I'm ABSOLUTELY trading her something to get a division of that peony, don't really care what the name is! But she'd like to know so I'm going to do a few searches to see if I can come up with a candidate. I've found that you can't always trust the descriptions of peonies unless they come from an actual gardener who has experience with them in their own garden, though, so I'm hoping one of you can point me in the right direction!
