I wanted this clematis, Bourbon, and iris, Rip City, to be an ideal match. Once in a while it's "okay" but never ideal.
There is a yellow potentilla to the left, that has sprays of blooms, bringing more cohesiveness but I cut back the potentilla in early spring so it's not blooming on time.
