So Dirt and I went to the nursery last night to pick up a couple of things we absolutely needed and look around at potential solutions to the color disaster problem (I think hot-pink penstemon tetris is the answer, but what do I know?)...and...

While we were at the nursery, we met a really, really tiny guy who had apparently been born in one of the sheds and recently abandoned. He was being exceptionally cute and gregarious and endearing....so...he found his way home with us. He's called Fletcher and he talks a lot but seems to be happy on his new lap. And I'm sure he'll enjoy the grand, luxury litterboxes that are Dirt's many gardens.

So the color disaster remains...but incremental progress was made in that the orange cat found his way to us. Here he is:
