Silver Spring, MD (Zone 7a)

I really like this penstemon Dark Towers but the purple leaves and pink flowers are clashing with the bright echinacea flowers and sundrops.

I thought penstemon would bloom way ahead of the echinacea so I was hoping to avoid this color clash. Oops!
