@HamiltonSquare Thanks Leslieray. I can't tell Hypoprepia fucosa and Hypoprepia miniata apart when looking at net photos. I think the difference must be very minor. The one in my photo is sure to be one or the other. Says the larva feeds on lichens, preferably growing on pines. No pines here, so I guess it either flew a long way or was raised on oak tree lichens. I'd just never seen one before.
