Your article is outstanding! Very informative and inspirational. Hopefully it will encourage more gardeners to try these wonderful plants.
While almost all flowers are beautiful, I like the fullness of the double flowered clematis. I have made an observation regarding another plus of the doubles: the flowers seem to hold up and last much longer -- in my limited experience. I have several unnamed singles and all are already bloomed out. My only double is Vanso Blue Light. It started blooming in early May and is still going strong -- even though planted much later than my others. I also noted that individual flowers last for weeks at a time, much longer than the singles -- definitely a bonus! Am curios if this is just the case with my specific cultivars, or if it applies generally to double vs single flowers?
