Kyla maybe you could use tweezers to remove the damaged parts? If you can, I would grow them on the dry side, maybe under an over hang of some kind? Many of the arachnoideum types don't do well with excessive water.
That really does look like two different plants. Look to see if they are attached by a stolon, that will give positive proof one way or the other. Both are lovely plants.
