Debbie, a few years ago I had a huge Beckwith's Gem in a container. As always, my DH is moving stuff around and when he moved this container, the whole coleus broke off at the soil line. So I just tore it apart and made lots of cuttings with about half of it. The rest of it I tossed in the garbage (actually,
at the garbage) and a few weeks later I saw many of the cuttings laying on the ground and they looked just fine. Your cuttings should be fine til you can get to them. Just keep them out of extreme temps or strong sunlight til you get to them.
Here's Allan with the Beckwith's Gem that he broke off....
