I was one of the first 300 contributors to the plant database! Plant Identifier
This first one is a red with a little orange shading to it. It was obtained by a friend in a bargain mix package about 10 yrs ago or so through Oakes. It has never gotten more than 15 inches tall for me and the petals always open out and kind of curl a little. I wondered if Oakes ever gives out their own seedlings as bonus, but anyway I have not found it on their website. it has a small bloom-maybe 3 1/2 inches.

2nd is also from Oakes about 10 yrs ago as part of a bagged mix. Has never been more than 15 inches tall. Each bloom opens perfectly, very ruffled and creped looking. It blooms heavy. Bloom is about 3 1/2 inches wide. It is a bright clear color, not muted, and has no other colors on it -no shading or edging .

3rd is a color I describe as reddish watermelon. Bright, not muddy. It blooms pretty early, before many of the others. It has never been more than 18 inches tall and the flower is maybe 4 -5 inches wide. It has the tendency to stay kind of trumpet shaped and not always open out flat. It was obtained by a friend maybe 20 yrs ago from Wild's and I have a feeling it is an oldie.
