your allegation is unfounded, go to the countryside and see how plants look.
Dad is from the wild plant, languish, has less nutrition, and lack of water, to see them rolled-up leaves. This reduces the surface area for evaporation of water. the other plants are of garden, have enough of everything and they are mostly bred cultivars, I tip my hat to you.
