Did you just have rain or is the potting mix always wet? Based on my experience, you could keep their potting mix drier than it appears to be - being too wet is a health hazard for little lilies... but then the baby bulbs are on the surface. Being on the surface has probably helped them succeed if conditions have been wet. Once they're tucked in (just covered) with a layer of mix though, they won't like wet feet.

I winter sowed the seeds in December.
Yes we have been getting a lot of rain here everything is mushy here right now.
