Dear Brenda, a pleasure like anything for you!
I do hope you have have been enjoying your weekend away?
It is the Biggin Hill Air Show later on next month; this airfield was famous in the war as an RAF fighter base and it really annoyed the Germans, who bombed it and did everything to it, but it never stopped them as it was difficult hit!
So I was wondering if you could inform Tony for me the following; They RAF (Historic flight), are having a fly past over London with a Lancaster bomber, six Spitfires, four Hurricanes and for the first time ever a Mosquito. Followed by the last flying Vulcan Bomber, with Harriers and four Tornado's!
H.M. Queen is taking the salute on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, and i can assure you everyone in London and everywhere else will have their eyes looking into the sky, once the sound of the Rolls Royce Merlin Engines are heard. Don't worry Tony will know what I am talking about, and so will the whole of Kent and London, plus RAF Duxford, the most unmistakable sound in the world.
Makes the hair stand up on my neck, and a shiver run through me.
Regards.
Neil.
