Dearest Vicki, it is with great pleasure I post these things as Articles! I am most happy when someone enjoys what they see. A part of History and my love for the Environment and plants, which I adore.
Yesterday I was saddened when a tourists child was wailing to her parents that this was not a Theme Park she had been promised; where were the rides and the computers, ice creams and burger bars!
You can get them in Greenwich village, but not in a Royal Park. It is not meant for that! It apart from the Royal Observatory thing which I disagree with, free. There are not many beautiful places and things that are free. Where you can wander and soaked in History and indeed plants that have a History!
That is why we love our Parks, whether they are Royal or not, simply because they are ours and free. Which is a nice change than to be charged for everything you do.
I agree Royal Park Rules are strict, no Alcohol\Drugs in the Park, if you get caught you know what to expect. That is the way it has been at Greenwich since 1433, and I agree with it!
If you wish for a drink go in the fantastic pubs in Greenwich, it is only at the bottom of the Hill.
If you can't abide by the rules, don't go there, or if you do, expect the punishment!
As a Horticulturist I love plants not clearing someone elses mess up!
Regards.
Neil.
