At least three, Gigi. In my experience (which isn't anything compared to folks like Hetty, Mark, and many others) additional tips may form over time. Sometimes, what looks like a just beginning tip will just be a leaf. Regardless, cutting a stem encourages branching and this simply produces a more dense, more esthetic tree (again, my opinion).
