Cool! Or warm, or whatever it is that made your summer crop succeed!

I love researching varieties, but I love even more hearing that the plants have ideas of their own, beyond what a seed catalog or garden advice-column tells us.

I want some phrase like "trust, but verify".

"Research, but also try."
"Read, but also do."
"Read, but don't believe until you SEE."
