It looks like Violet Becomes Her to me. The edges seldom are as nice as the daylily hybridizer's picture, so if you eliminate the edge, allow for it's splotchy disposition, the center pattern and overall color look like VBH to me.....I'm just learning myself this year about what can cause the splotchiness. A few of my daylilies always start out splotchy and I just hope they have enough buds to finally produce the nice version of the flower. It didn't seem to matter about the color really, as I had dark colors that seldom had much if any splotchiness sitting right next to those that always had it on the first few blooms. The way the buds are formed seems to be key. I noticed on one that is particularly blotchy that the buds are not really closed tightly because of the bubbled edging. If I understand this correctly it is allowing moisture (dew/rain etc) to enter the night before and wash out or distort the color (like tie died clothing). If that's the case then it's a case of knowing what the physical and unalterable qualities of a daylily are. If it has edging that prevents the blooms closing tightly and that leads to colors blotching, do you really want to invest your time and effort in keeping it..........Maryl
