Yes, clover is a great cover crop, a nitrogen fixer that brings nitrogen from the air into the soil and releases it in a form other plants can use. It is widely sold as a cover crop. Also, red clover is an excellent medicinal tea and tonic for what could politely be called "female troubles." I used to wild harvest red clover whenever I could find it and make vinegar with it to extract the minerals it is rich with.
