it may be the sun, Kyla--my front lawn is northern exposure and on the shady side with the dogwood tree. But even on the curb strip, where they get plenty of sun, they proliferate but don't grow very large. Of course, I keep pulling those flower/seed stalks out--maybe that has an impact! Hilarious!
