Just got back from visiting the kids in Missouri, and wanted to tell all that have clay for soil and can grow hosta "Kudos to you for a job well done!" I took my daughter plant shopping and also took her a few divisions from my collection to expand her gardens. Wow! I garden in sand and was shocked at how difficult it is to dig and amend clay! We got some stuff planted with a lot more difficulty than I'm used to! I'm always complaining about how fast my sand dries out, but after working in her gardens I'm thinking that I have it pretty good over here on the sandy banks of the Mississippi!

When I got home I had a wonderful package from my hosta secret swap person! Ten hosta that I don't have in my collection!

I'll be out planting these tomorrow, and I won't be complaining about my sand!
When all is said and done, there’s more said than done.
