woofie said:Supposedly, the scented ones won't necessarily come true from seed. However, the person making that claim (heh heh, someone in the plant selling biz Whistling ) also said the seeds were fine like dust, which certainly isn't true of the seeds I've collected from my plants! But that probably is true anyway. Like I said, my red flowered plants gave me seeds that produced some pink flowers as well as red ones.

Woofie, I just ran across the blog post you were referring to, yeah, it seemed a little self-promoting. Like you, I have never seen dust-like pelargonium seed, but possibly some of the species could be that way?
The problem is that the hybrids won't
come true, of course, but which of the older types are hybrids? I read somewhere that the graveolens types
are actually crosses between 2 or more species, that surprised me.
At the very least, you could end up with something like the parent plants, and since we are talking about scented leaf types, that isn't such a bad thing!
So, everybody, save that seed, share with the world, let's make the world a better smelling place! Thumbs up
