I understood, I just mean that I use soilless mix, and I just generally assume that everyone does, real soil is usually fine and rinses away, where soiless mix is chunky, and doesn't rinse away at all, but I know that plenty of folks use native soil as potting mix, I've not had great results myself but my wood chip compost pile is making me think I can get away with it soon.
I always worry about pathogens in real soil, but the microbiology of my mix isn't good compared to real living soil. Nematodes are a real threat to amorphs from what I read, and we have LOTS of them here!

Sure would be nice to not have to spend so much on "dirt"!
