Dear all, I was not looking forward to going shopping today with my mother as she tends to overload me with things to carry in my rucksack for her. However apart from the overloading as she thinks I am a Camel, she did buy Sarah some nice stuff in the pound shop. Everything is a pound or under, oh what fun!
All these plants for 50p or two lots for 90 p, so more for me to do for Sarah's border! So I started with 6 mixed Lupins 90p, same with the Eryngium planum or sea holly, then 30 cornliles, 15 Allium species. Looking around a stroke of luck, for I have an area which is but small that some plants do not like as I have a feeling the soil is cream crackered. Spotted some lucky clover Oxalis deppe ' Iron Cross'. Perfect, let it grow and flower and then dig it in, as it fixes nitrogen in the soil and is a green manure. What a result as you get 60 for 90p. So plant 30 dig them in and then the next 30! let us see if that works, I think it will, hopefully!
Plus of course Sarah got some chocolate, which does upset me having to carry that disgusting stuff.
I got something as well, a bad back, how nice.
Regards.
Neil.
