Earlier this year, before the notion of hybridizing bit me, I ordered a daylily seedling available for naming from Chris Darrow at Olallie Gardens. This morning,the first bloom (in my garden) opened up! I'm so excited...and so shocked! It's nowhere near the orange color that was in the picture on the website (

So, everyone, I give you a first glimpse of "Olallie Keith Stone's Sunset", perhaps the truest-to-color picture of it. (It's been registered with AHS, but isn't on their site yet.) my pretty little red (with a slight hint of orange) daylily!
