A Tens Unit is a low-voltage, generally battery operated, medical device that is used to control pain via cording that attach to moistened pads which are placed on the area of pain. It is what you would be treated with if you went to a Chiropractor's office for therapy. The ones that are available to the public to purchase are not as powerful as the ones that professionals use -- however, they are very effective.

A side benefit of a Tens Unit is that the electrical charge neutralizes the proteins that are delivered to your flesh when you are stung. If you had a Tens Unit, and used it directly after the stings, the result would be greatly reduced swelling/pain/itching that usually accompanies stings. I have two of them and use them both for pain and for stings. I also have a crude one that I put together with a 4-volt lantern battery, lamp cording and small copper alligator clips. If you Google Tens Unit or Godzilla unit, you will get a lot of information. I wouldn't be without one!!
Thoughts become things -- choose the good ones. (www.tut.com)
