I managed to avoid BER this year, even with all the rain washing the nutrients out of the soil.

I had been watching a Japanese gardener on YouTube, and every time he prepped his beds he sprinkled what appeared to be Lime VERY liberally, so, I figured I'd do the same!

I sprinkled an extra heavy dose of my mixture below when I prepped the bed. It sure didn't hurt anything!

Mittleider Pre-Plant Formula
(Apply at a rate of 1 oz./linear ft. down each half of a 48" wide raised bed)
10 cups Lime
1/2 cup Magnesium (EP),
1/8 cup Boron (20 Mule Team Borax)

I tip my hat to you.
