Your jades are looking okay! Is the 2nd photo the original one? It looks okay, although to me it seems etiolating, meaning the stems are growing narrow and sparser leaves. Your plant is trying to seek for more light.

Sorry about your scheffleras, sometime it is just hit and miss.

Just sharing to you how my Crassula ovata is. I grow it outdoors, it gets part sun/part shade. If the light it needs is enough, there should be no leggy growth, more leaves on the nodes, and the main trunk can drink a lot and go big. So it is quite drought tolerant. My plant has grown into this specimen size already, and your plant can do that too in time. Wishing you the best for your plant. Try to give it some more light.
