I couldn't stand dragging hoses, so I ran 3/4" polyethylene irrigation mainline around my house. I don't know whether you can kink those or not, but if you never drag it after the day you lay it down, it won;t kink.

I added a Tee fitting with hose threads every so often.
At least one Tee near every bed that might ever want hand-watering.

I added Ys with valves on the Tees.

Attached a SHORT lengths of hose on each Y. Like, the length of the hose is the width of one flower bed. Kinked, cut and frayed hoses can easily be cut up to make many such lengths.

Add a hand sprayer or watering wand to each short length.

That way, no hose ever gets dragged more than a few yards. Every square foot can be reached by at least one hand sprayer.

The bummer is that, once I had irrigation mainline, I put out sprayers too.
Now I hardly ever HAVE TO hand-water.

More Spigots Equal Easier Watering
