I took this the other day at my mothers. It is a new flower bud for her Magnolia stellata, which is an incredibly beautiful spring flowering Magnolia. Luckily they do not get big so are ideal in a container, and are ideal for the smaller garden. I love them because they flower early before the leaves (most Magnolias do), yet the flowers are like white stars to look at. Truly a lovely plant this one, totally hardy and tough!
I will put a picture on when it comes in to flower, which I feel want be that long.
Regards.
Neil.
