If pacoyotehunter logged back onto ATP, he/she would have received the message that responses had been made to this thread. I kinda wonder if perhaps this new member did indeed see the all of the responses but found the joking around a bit overwhelming and didn't know how to reply?

I am "older" and had never visited or posted on any on-line forum until I found Dave's Garden in 2006. I was 58 years old then and the only computer use I'd had over the years before then was data processing at my job and e-mailing my family members at home ... I was unaware of on-line type forums. I still remember the overwhelming feelings and also feeling a little intimated when I first joined DG. For a long time, I just "lurked" and read and after awhile I finally became comfortable about posting. I also recall asking a question on one of the plant threads on DG when I was new and was really taken aback when another member shouted about how she was so tired of people coming on and asking the same question others had asked numerous times in the course of a year! She stated something to the effect that if people would do some research on their own they'd find the answer to the question themselves without having to ask on the forum! Wow, was I stunned ... so much so that I did not reply and I don't remember ever going back to that forum again. I'm of course not saying that anything bad like that has been said on this thread, just that sometimes newbies, young and old alike may find things a bit overwhelming until they get to know us crazy plant people and join in the fun. Smiling

Hopefully pacoyotehunter's question regarding the plant was legitimate; there's no reason to assume otherwise and hopefully he/she will find forums of interest here on All Things Plants and hang around and join in the fun and chat.
