Pat, that was me saying that your 'Purple Prince' wouldn't be truly purple and that you didn't need to worry about all those bulbs you planted. I said it would be pink with blue tones and I stand by it as it still looks very pink to me. Respectfully I'd suggest to look at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/... for a good definition of truly purple hues. Of course it obviously still may not be the color you wanted, but if you wanted clear pink then why buy a lily called 'Purple Prince' in the first place?

Back in the day when I bought all the Purple Prince it was ok........... but that was not the color that I actually wanted once I added other flowers. Brecks made them look my black purple then just purple or a hue of purple or pink.......manipulation I guess is the best word
and you were right.......can be seen as soon pink as well............but they are for sure darker in the shade then in the sun
but in the end of it all........the purple prince looks fine the way it is and I like it
to me it has a purple hue but I can see where someone might see pink in it as well

not a big deal to me at all

lots of Midnight in the trumpets are dark purple here and that is fine too.......crossing some of them for my daughter in laws.....

the article is excellent by the way
