I have a young Giant Bird of Paradise. When it loses a lower leaf, a portion of the brown stem remains much like palms. How do i trim these so the dead parts look attractive? I have seen beautifully trimmed palm leaves that create a woven pattern. I know a BOP is not a palm, but if trimmed a certain way can i achieve similar nice pattern?
