Leslie -- I've lost a couple of Brad's rhizomes out there too -- planted in *ordinary* soil. In this case, ordinary soil is a mix of field soil and aged horse manure compost.
Most of the Irises planted there -- 99% -- are doing great. It's just gonna happen that some don't make the transition well -- and this has been a very tough year on Irises.
I'm not giving up on the two varieties that look *lost* -- the rhizomes are still firm -- I'm gonna give them time.
